Ricardo B. Contreras, PhD

eqr01Ricardo B. Contreras is the director of Training & Partnership Development. As such, he is responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s learning resources and services. Susanne Friese, PhD

susanne_frieseSusanne Friese is Product Specialist with ATLAS.ti Scientific Software Development GmbH.  She has a doctoral degree from the University of Hohenheim, Germany.  Susanne began her academic career at the University of Bonn, studying Nutrition and Home Economics. After a second pre-diploma specializing in the area of home economics, she continued her studies at the University of Oregon in the USA finishing with a Master of Science in Family Resource Management and Marketing. Writing her Master Thesis, she discovered her interest in qualitative research method and computer-assisted procedures for data analysis. Susanne started working with computer software for qualitative data analysis in 1992. Her initial contact with CAQDAS tools was from 1992 to 1994, as she was employed at QualisResearch in the USA. In following years, she worked with the CAQDAS Project in England (1994 – 1996), where she taught classes on The Ethnograph and Nud*ist. Two additional software programs, MAXQDA and ATLAS.ti, followed shortly.  Her book “Qualitative Data Analysis with ATLAS.ti” (SAGE publications) is now in its second edition. Susanne teaches online introductory courses in Germany and advanced courses in English.

Neringa Kalpokaite, PhD

Neringa_KalpokaiteNeringa Kalpokaite is Manager of International Projects with Training & Partnership Development. She is responsible for the implementation of training services in the English and Spanish languages with a particular emphasis on the European and Latin American markets.  Neringa has a doctoral degree in social psychology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. Additionally, she has been a student at universities in Lithuania, her home country, and a visiting researcher at Harvard University, in the United States. Her specialization is in political psychology with particular emphasis in leadership and qualitative methodology.  Neringa’s curriculum vitae can be accessed here.

Neringa Kalpokaite es gerente de servicios de formación de ATLAS.ti, responsable de la planificación e implementación de actividades de enseñanza en idioma inglés y español con un énfasis en Europa y América Latina.  Neringa posee un doctorado y un Master en Psicología Social de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y una licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad de Klaipeda (Lituania), además de contar con una estadía docente de un año en la Universidad de Harvard. Además de su trabajo con ATLAS.ti, Neringa es directora de la empresa de consultoría NkQualitas, la cual se especializa en actividades en el ámbito de lo cualitativo.

Ani Munirah Mohamad

AniMunirahAni Munirah Mohamad is Manager of International Projects with Training & Partnership Development.  She is responsible for the implementation of training services in the English and Malay languages, with a particular emphasis on the Southeast Asian market.  She is a lecturer at the Law Department, College of Law, Government and International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok, Kedah, Malaysia. Having obtained a bachelors degree in law (LLB Hons.) and a masters degree in comparative law (MCL) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2003 and 2004 respectively, she practiced law at one of the leading legal firms in Malaysia before deciding to join the academic profession in 2007. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Law at a local public university in Malaysia. Ani runs ATLAS.ti trainings in Malaysia and the Asia/Pacific region.

Luis Alfredo Loaiza

Especialización en administración de sistemas de información del Centro Colombiano de Estudios Profesionales. Candidato a Grado de la Maestría en “Desarrollo Humano” – FLACSO Buenos Aires – Argentina. Trainer Certificado en Software Cualitativo ATLAS.ti. Casa Fabricante – Madrid 2014. Es asesor en gestión de proyectos sociales y su especialidad es incorporar herramientas informáticas cuantitativas, cualitativas y los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG-GIS) a la investigación, especialmente en la evaluación proyectos y sistematización de experiencias.

Experto en el diseño e implementación de metodologías en procesos de investigación social y trabajo de campo y asesor en la coordinación técnica y ejecución de proyectos sociales dirigidos a poblaciones vulnerables. Responsable del diseño e implementación de sistemas de monitoreo y evaluación para proyectos sociales, contando con amplia experiencia en la capacitación e implementación de sistemas de planificación local desde el la metodología del Marco Lógico ML.

Nicholas Woolf, PhD

Nick_Woolf_97Nick Woolf is a qualitative research consultant and teacher of ATLAS.ti. He has taught graduate classes in qualitative methods and conducted approximately 300 ATLAS.ti workshops for several thousand students since 1999, primarily in North America. He has conducted or consulted on dozens of research projects in widely diverse fields, ranging from individual projects and dissertations to large scale multi-national studies. He holds a PhD in Instructional Design from the University of Iowa, where his dissertation was a grounded theory study of paradoxical thinking in managers of organizations. Nick has developed a perspective on the process of using ATLAS.ti for qualitative data analysis based on his experience of teaching and consulting over the last 15 years. He gave the keynote address at the 2013 ATLAS.ti User’s Conference in Berlin, and his paper in the conference proceedings “Analytic Strategies and Analytic Tactics” summarizes his perspective. He is currently at work on a textbook “How To Use ATLAS.ti Powerfully.” You can learn more about his work at his website.

César A. Cisneros-Puebla, PhD

Cesar1César is a Professor of Sociology at Autonomous Metropolitan University-Iztapalapa, Mexico. He teaches Qualitative Methods and Social Sciences Epistemology. He has been a visiting professor at the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology, University of Alberta, Canada (2001-2003) and in the CAQDAS Networking Project at University of Surrey, UK (2008) as well as different Universities in South America and Spain.   He is author of ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA, QDAMiner and INTERACT software´ Spanish versions and their manuals and exemplar projects, and is the reviewer for NVivo Spanish version as well.

He consults in the field of qualitative computing and research within South America and abroad as Director of Qualitative Computing Consultancy http://www.computacioncualitativa.com.mx/ , consultancy company located in Mexico. He belongs to Editorial Boards in journals as Qualitative Sociology Review, Qualitative Research in Psychology, Qualitative Health Research, International Review of Qualitative Research, Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, among others. He is the responsible editor for the Spanish version of FQS (Forum of Qualitative Social Research).

Trena Paulus, Ph.D.

tpsmall_edit Trena Paulus is a Professor of Qualitative Research Methods at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She is co-author of Digital Tools for Qualitative Research (2014). Dr. Paulus has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles on topics related to qualitative research, language-based methodologies for investigating online conversations, computer-mediated communication and online learning. She teaches courses and advises graduate students on qualitative research methods, digital tools for qualitative research, analysis of online data, and discourse analysis. She is a founding member of the Microanalysis of Online Data international network and the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry’s new special interest group on Digital Tools for Qualitative Research. She is a certified professional trainer for ATLAS.ti and an Affiliate of the Center for Computer-Mediated Communication at Indiana University. She regularly consults and provides workshops on the use of digital tools in a variety of research contexts in the USA and internationally. She is currently working on a methodological text on analyzing online conversations for evidence of learning. More information about
